It's Harder To Hug On An Empty Stomach

For Pets and their parents alike, hunger can become a mutual affliction - especially when leaving the house isn't an option. And while Pet parents have been known to forego their own dinner so their furry companions can eat, we've teamed up with Meals on Wheels Association of America to ensure Pets and the people who love them both get fed.

After realizing that, like their owners, the Pets of many MOWAA recipients were also in need of nutritious food, MOWAA initiated We All Love Our Pets (WALOP), an initiative that enables local Meals On Wheels programs to begin or sustain pet food distribution programs in order to nourish the Pets of seniors. Funds raised during the annual Season of Suppers campaign in November and December each year help sustain and expand WALOP initiatives at local Meals On Wheels programs throughout the country.

You can ease the hunger

Please give generously to the 2010 Season of Suppers coming November 1 - December 31. Your tax-deductible donation will help fill food bowls and tummies. Give today online, email info@banfieldcharitabletrust.org, call 503-922-5801, or stop by any Banfield, The Pet Hospital® location.

BCT Funded Program: Season of Suppers
"We are so very grateful to be selected as a recipient for a Banfield Charitable Trust grant award. I have attached a picture of one of our dear clients, Helen with her four year old cat, Pumpkin Pie. Helen made sure that Pumpkin Pie was decked out in a fancy bow for the picture.

Helen receives meals from us every day and Pumpkin Pie also receives his "kitty" meals that are packed by our staff with pet food donated by Phillips Feed & Pet Supply Outlet. Helen lives in a low-income housing building in Bangor, PA. Unable to afford the cost of meals for both she and her cat, Meals On Wheels insures that both receive the nutrition they need. Pumpkin Pie was rescued from the street on a cold snowy day by Helen and since that time, both she and MOW have helped him to become a robust and healthy kitty. Thank you again for your kind support."
